The Polar Express, Snow Angels, Gingerbread men and the bike!

(the white stuff on his face is just Eucerin cream - I wasn't letting him eat out of the powdered sugar bag!)

These are just a few random pics of things that have been going on in the past week. Wyatt got a new big boy bike from my dad, it's even red, his favorite color! Now Cora can have the smaller one, and daddy took to get a princess helmet the other day to go with it!!!
Wyatt was also my helper in making the gingerbread people this year - that and my fantastic new Pampered Chef roller! Anyhow he helped make them, and then while we were waiting for them to cool those naughty little cookies took off! They were eventually found trying to climb the Christmas Tree!
Other fun things have been learning to make snow angels and playing polar express!
I realise that these pics are only of Wyatt. Cora has had a rough past few days (except yesterday, I have to say she was a perfect little lady yesterday!) and hasn't wanted to participate much. Hopefully she'll be in better spirits from today on through the rest of the holiday season (and beyond of course!).

Little Cash!

It's official!!! Mike and I are finally Aunt Crissy and Uncle Mike, and the kids have a cousin! Amy and Brent had a baby boy Thursday night (after patiently waiting a week past their due date!)! We had all been waiting to see if "Three" as the baby was called for 9 mo, was going to be a boy or a girl. Mike and I had our bets on a girl (we thought she was just taking her sweet time to be ready to come out), but suprise!!, they had a baby boy! His name is Cash James Olson, and he is adorable!!! I don't have pictures to post just yet, but the Olson family blog is linked to mine (it's, "The Three of Us") so you can check it out to see pics of the little guy! Congratulations Amy and Brent and welcome Cash! You are so lucky to have such a wonderful mommy and daddy, and we all can't wait to meet you!

The "hole" tooth and nothin but the tooth......

Yep, Wyatt is now missing one of his front teeth! About a year and a half ago he took a header off his little scoot car right on to his face on our kitchen floor. He hit is mouth really hard, had a swollen lip (which did end up breaking the paci habit when he couldn't suck on it for a few days), and ended up disrupting the blood supply to his tooth and ever since then it has been dying. So, last Thursday I noticed a big puffy white spot on his gums, we called the dentist and after a quick check there were told that the root of that tooth was absessing and draining into the gums (yuck!). Amazingly it wasn't hurting at all, but could have become painful at anytime. We were referred to a pediatric dentist in Wenatchee, I called them Monday and they got us in ASAP, they too were worried about it getting worse quickly.

This morning we all woke up early and headed out intending to be there by 8:30. Well, the pass and the snow (which we hadn't expected so much of) slowed us down quite a bit, but it was a beautiful drive and we made it just fine, just a little late! :) The staff and dentist were amazing, so kind and friendly, and the office itself was great - like a big playroom with several fish tanks and coffee for the parents! They checked Wyatt out and then came and told us his tooth would need to come out. We knew this might happen, so of course we agreed and out it came. They said he did great, just watched TV and asked them to change the channel a couple times. :) He seemed pretty good with the whole thing and came out wanting to play more before we left. After about 15 minutes on the road he asked to eat and as soon as we got home he begged to go play in the snow! We are so thankful for his brave spirit and the wonderful people who worked on him today!

Mr. Snowy

This is the newest addition to the Hobbs household! Wyatt was SO excited to get to go out to play in the snow today! He and daddy created your basic snowman at first; mittens, hat, carrot nose, the usual things you'd find on a snowman. However, it didn't take very long before I was being asked to send out some interesting items. They gave Snowy my old workout shoes and then made him a little doggy friend, complete with Boggs' leash and harness. The really interesting part is that random snowball on Snowy's left in the picture of just him. Not sure if I can say this on a blog, but since I've posted Cora in my bra and shared "big jet", what the heck, that lump of snow is Snowy's penis! Believe it or not, that was ALL Wyatt's idea and daddy had nothing to do with it, at least that is what I was told (but that was coming from the guy who likes to make anatomically correct gingerbread people!). Anyhow Wyatt thought he needed a penis and he built that "part" all by himself! Mike asked "don't you want to put it between his legs, like where your's is?" Wyatt replied, "no, cause that's a safer place over there!" He is very proud of Snowy and all his parts!

Santa and his Elf

Just some goofy pictures of my goofy munchkins! Wyatt made a last minute trip to the dentist last Thursday and his prize was a pair of goofy glasses/ nose. He thought they were like Santa and went and found a bag to put some toys in. At the same time Cora randomly found Wyatt's shoes (which I thought looked like elf shoes on her) and the Santa hat. The only problems I can see are that the elf could use some pants and (if you look closely) Santa is in desparate need of a kleenex!

Big Jet

I just had to share this because Mike and I got a huge laugh out of it! Miss Cora is turning into quite the comedian, and usually unintentionally. She has developed a love for "The Little Einsteins" show, and on that show there is an airplane the call "Big Jet," and a little rocket thing called "rocket" that the little Einsteins kids ride around it. Well last night she was sitting at the table and all of a sudden she yells out "Want Big Jet!" However in Cora words it came out sounding like "One big shet", I'm sure I don't have to tell you what that last word actually sounded like - though I didn't spell it that way! Oh my goodness it was funny, and she kept saying the last part too "big shet, big shet", trying to let us know she was talking about Big Jet! We tried not to make a big deal out of it at the time, but we had a great laugh over it after she was in bed!

A side note, I know "Big Jet" is what she meant because I was initially shocked at what I heard and asked if she was talking about big jet - and she said "yeah, big shet mommy" - so she really wasn't meaning to say anything bad (not that she's ever heard that anyway). Gotta love the way toddler talk sounds sometimes!

A Christmas Carol

My Grandma, Geri, my mom, Cheryl, and my sister in law, Vanessa
The carolers out in front of the theatre - loved their costumes!

The camel - who would have thought they'd have a camel!

And of course, reindeer! They were so friendly, the walked
right up and wanted to be petted.

Saturday I went to A Christmas Carol with my mom, grandma and sister in law at The Capital Threatre in Yakima. This was such a treat for all of us, because we very rarely do things like this, or go have a "girls" afternoon. We started out by going to lunch at The Olive Garden (that was my favorite place when I lived in Yakima!) and then we went across the street to the show. The Capital is an old theatre that has been restored, it's not huge, but it is gorgeous and glamorous - you feel so special just being there! Outside they had horse drawn carriage rides, the reindeer, the camel, carolers, all kinds of Christmas scenery and even fake snow! It was really special and the show was AMAZING! all of the actors were local, and they did a fantastic job! I'd totally recommend going to any show/ production that they do there. Thanks so much to my family for making this such a special and memorable day - I love you all and love spending time with you!

The Great Christmas Tree Hunt

Cora's suggestion for our tree

Wyatt's suggestion for our tree
(he actually said "smile little tree" when I took this picture)

waiting for smores and hot chocolate

taking apart the fire pit (there wasn't a fire in it!)

All geared up, hope nobody has to go potty!
Friday morning we went to the mountains to get our Christmas tree. This was a tradition for both Mike's and my family while we were growing up, and the way we found all of our trees the first few years we were married. We haven't gone in a few years because the kids were so little, so this was a first for us as a family. The kids had a great time even though there was only a little snow, and only in places! They explored, slipped around on the ice, built things out of rocks and sticks and got REALLY messy. Poor Mike tried and tried to get a fire going, but it just never happenned (at one point he was using the TP to attempt to get it going!). However we still enjoyed some smores, they were cold but good, and the kids thought the hot cocoa was great, which was fun because at home they won't go near it. Wyatt packed his around calling it his "coffee", saying that he was just like daddy! They both had ideas of which tree to bring home, but in the end Mike and I decided on one just a touch bigger (about 12 ft tall!). Wyatt was VERY concerned about "hurting the little tree" when we cut it down and actually didn't want to bring one home if we had to cut it down. He finally came around after we talked for a bit, but it was so sweet that he was worried about the tree!

Thanksgiving Weekend 08

First poop on the potty!

Thanksgiving Day with Great Uncle Rick

We had a very quiet Thanksgiving Day this year. We woke up and took our time getting around and enjoying the parade, which Cora LOVED! We went to my parent's house where it was just them, us and my uncle, the rest of the family was elsewhere this year. It was peaceful, we all fit around one table, and Wyatt actually said the blessing! It was very sweet and the first time he's done that for a family dinner, then he initiated a little conversation of "what are you thankful for?"
Friday we undecorated for fall and redecorated for Christmas, this was something that Wyatt really loved. He can't wait to get the tree and help daddy do the outside decorating later this week!
Saturday we went to cousin Lexi's birthday party at Kid's Castle. The kids had a great time and Cora was finally big enough to really enjoy it. Thankfully Mike went with me and followed her all through the "castle" - that place really makes me nervous, it seems so easy to loose a kid in there!
Sunday we went to church and actually got to enjoy worship (yes we made it in time/out of the nursery in time for once!) and the sermon together! This is a rare thing for us with Mike working every other weekend and me often being in the nursery. The message was fantastic (about patience and waiting).
All in all it was a pretty regular and uneventful weekend, but we LOVED and needed that!

Gracie and Gertie

Last night when Cora was so upset about Gracie, Mike named the other (identical) cow in hopes that she'd settle for that. He named her Gertie, which Cora pronounces as "Dirty", so now she has Dirty and Dicey. :) Anyhow last night she was horribly offended by Gertie, but this morning she had a better attitude. With Gracie safely back in her arms after she woke up, she discovered that Mommy and Daddy had left Gertie out last night. She immediately took to Gertie (though never put Gracie down) and was so excited about "2 cows!". She has taken them both around with her all day, and at nap time I found her asleep in a pile of cows. She arranged them like this, not us - notice there is a head poking out each side! By the way after she went to sleep I did sneak that wet cow out and give her (and Wyatt's kitty) a proper washing machine bath.

A Family Campout at the Dryer

The evening seemed to be going so well! We fed the kids at 5:30 then the watched Harold and the Purple Crayon (fantasticly soothing and mellow - great evening show!) while Mike and I ate and chatted. Mike then turned on the bath, left for maybe 2 seconds and in runs Cora, she leaned in a little to far and when over the side of the tub. That part was pretty funny only because she caught herself with her arms and was high-centered calling "I stuck, I stuck" with her little bare bum up in the air. Well, if you know Cora at all, you know what she was packing in her right hand, by it's tail, yep Gracie went for a swim! Totally submerged and soaked up a ton of water. We managed to calm her down for the bath but once she was out nothing would satisfy her, not even the "extra cow" that is a 2nd Gracie. We went to visit Gracie in the laundry basket (this cow was way beyond being dry before bed time) and through her sobs she said "Hi Dicey" (she calls her Dicey). Then we hung it up to show her that we were going to let Gracie dry out over night, and again through her sobbing said "night, night Dicey, see you in the morning." We then thought it was going to be ok, but as soon as she was dressed she became hysterical for Dicey, she actually threw and kicked the extra cow and said "bye bye" as she did. So, with no choice left we sat at the dryer and waited for Gracie to get dry enough to go to bed with. Cora sobbed and sobbed and kept trying to open the dryer door, no amount of reasoning was getting though to her. Then Wyatt came out and said "I know how to feel Cora better! I'm going to sit with her and tell her some things!" So with Mike's help he told Cora that Gracie was OK and that sometimes his blanket has to go in the dryer too. Amazingly this was what finally calmed her down - and a big hug from brother. It was so sweet I almost cried! Of course Gracie did not get dry in time, but she did stop dripping, so Cora took a wet cow to bed with her (though I am going to finish drying it as soon as she goes to sleep). We've had many comments on how "loved" Gracie looks lately, and I suppose this truly does confirm how loved she is. I pray that nothing worse ever happens to Gracie than an untimely bath!

Our week - a post to help me remember

These pics are from the archives, taken this summer at a Quinn and Layne's birthday party. I never did post them but wanted to, and since I didn't have any from this past week I thought a little shot of summer would be nice!

I don't have any really interesting stories to tell, but we have had a few "happenings" this past week that I wanted to post so that I'd remember someday.
On Tuesday Mike got his stitches out (ripped out I might add) and was told to just take it easy on his ear for a few more days. It looks pretty much back to normal, a touch puffier than the other side, but it has healed really well. He stayed out of jui jitsu this week, just to make sure it was really healed up, and was finally able to go back for a bit today! He now has head gear and said it worked great! I knw he's thrilled that he doesn't have to give it up, or risk damaging his hearing.
Cora has started to identify herself as "punkin pie!" We called her that a couple times and she must have liked it better than the other nicknames because it has very much stuck with her. She also had a 1st today! A self-initiated pee on the potty! She's gone before when we've put her on, or asked her but I think that was more of a coincidence than anything. Today she stared pulling off her pants and diaper and said "I need to go potty." I took her in, sat her down and didn't really figure that she'd do anything, and then I heard Wyatt yelling "Mommy, Mommy Cora's peeing in the potty!" She had - and quite a bit too! I'm excited, but she's only 20 mo so we'll just see what happens - not getting rid of the diapers just yet.
I can tell that Wyatt's little heart for God is just growing everyday in love and knowledge. His prayers have been so sweet and meaningful lately and all he wants me to sing is "Jesus loves the little Children," but since his favorite colors are red and green (yay Christmas!) he always tells me to sing it "red and green and black and white" instead of "red and yellow, black and white." Today he asked me "who is God?", and then "Does He live here?" I explained that God lives in Heaven, but that yes, He is always here with us. I didn't get to explain in any further detail because Wyatt's eyes lit up and he grinned and got excited and said "Oh, Can we go to His house sometime!!!!"
I'm glad the week is winding down and a new one is approaching. Yesterday was a bad "mommy" day and to top it off I had to go to the Dr. I really do not like going to the Dr. (except my ob appts - I did love most of those) and have to be REALLY sick or have something very wrong to go. For the past 2 or 3 weeks I've felt like my heart wasn't beating normally at times, but I tried to ignore it and tell myself it would go away and I really thought maybe it was all in my head?? Yesterday morning I was noticing it more than I had before so I called thinking something was very wrong (and wanting to be sure I woke up this morning), they got me right in and thankfully didn't think I was a total nutcase. Of course the Dr. didn't hear it while I was there, but after I described to him what was going on, he knew exactly what it was and assured me that I was fine and that in normal healthy hearts that is considered a normal arhythmeia (sp?). I was so thankful and relieved to hear that! I was worried that he was going to tell me I had to stop working out or something else that would just be horrible for me to deal with! Praise God that I am fine and can now stop worrying myself to sleep every night!

Random Happenings from the Hobbs House

It's been an interesting past few days around our house! Started off with Mike's ear swelling up (the outside part) due to the start of "cauliflower ear" from constantly getting knocked around in jui jitsu. He had it drained last Friday and came home looking like this, and though it was Halloween he insisted that he was not going out like this. So he took it off and it swelled right back up! Monday he went to practice and heard a "pop" in the same ear and by Tuesday morning it had swelled to the point that it was affecting his hearing and hurt really bad - not to mention looked a little gross! He went back to the Dr yesterday and had it drained again and is now not allowed to remove the head wrap until he sees the specialist tomorrow. However this time Wyatt chose the color (he let Cora pick last time which is why he's wearing pink!) and it's a green head wrap. Unfortunately this means no tournament for him Sat. :( Since it was affecting his hearing he had to see the Dr and couldn't wait until after the tournament and is now sidelined until it heals. At least he looks cute in a head wrap!

Another rare and random thing, Monday my children sat together calmly on the couch and Cora let Wyatt read to her (didn't insist on holding the book), and Wyatt willingly sat and did it! In fact he read her 3 or 4 stories until lunch was ready. This is rare because at this time of day (the "I am really needing a nap" time of day) they are usually running back and forth bouncing off the couches while I fix lunch as fast as possible so I can strap them in their chairs!

I can't quite believe I am posting this one, but Abby said I should, and since I'm really not a shy person at all.......
Today Cora was in our room and apparently (so Mike tells me), picked up this article of clothing and said "wear dis!?" So he put it on her and out she proudly pranced. I have to say it's a little disheartening that my 19mo old can wear my bra and not have it be any bigger on her than this! Keep in mind that he criss-crossed the straps and cinched it up in the back so that she could wear it. :) Girls do love their mommy's clothes!

The Froggy and the Moo

(I accidentally put these pictures on here in the wrong order, so the ones from the start of the night are down at the bottom.) We had a super fun Halloween and both kids really got into the dress up and trick or treating! They were thrilled about their costumes way before we ever wore them, and it was so cute that they were both able to say "trick or treat", and "thank you" or in Cora's case "hinks!" We started with the downtown trick or treating while it was still light. We hit all the little shops and businesses and ran into lots of friends along the way. At about 6pm we went over to a friend's house for a little "group trick or treat party". We all ate dinner together and once it was good and dark we took all the kids out together. It was so cute to see them all together in the costumes. The group mentality led to no shyness as the ran up without parents to the doors with their little goody bags!

"I know you're in there!"
In this picture Wyatt was the 1st one up to the door, knocked and didn't get an answer. Well we didn't have time to get back off the porch before all the friends flooded the porch and all started knocking and call out "trick or treat!" They were not giving up either, we had to go up and get them! Poor people, I'm pretty sure they were home too, mobbed by a bunch of preschoolers!

All the little friends in their little costumes!

The Frog and the "Moo", as Cora said when asked what she was!

By the end of the night they had a very full candy bucket, mommy was carrying it because it was "too heavy", and Cora's mood had become considerabley less agreeable, she became known as "the mad cow"!

Tagged........

I have been tagged again! This round of the game is a little different though, this time I am supposed to list 6 things that people probably don't know about me (I think that's what I'm supposed to do, right?). Anyhow, not sure how suprizing any of this will be, I'll keep the really juicy stuff aff the blog! Not that I have "juicy" stuff anyway.....

1. I truly have my dream job right now! To be totally honest, I never really liked having a job that I had to leave the house to do everyday. I did/do love teaching preschool, but given the choice I'd still rather be at home. I remember telling myself that I just had to make it until Wyatt was born, and then I didn't have to "work" anymore (though I did have a VERY difficult class that year). Not that I don't work now, it is work, but being at home caring for my family really is all that I want to do. I can't say I ever look forward to going back to work!

2. I'm ridiculously addicted to coordinating my kid's clothing! It really is a good thing they aren't the same gender - it might really bother me if I didn't have matching outfits everyday! I always said I wanted twins, probably glad now that I didn't have 2 at once, but I think I would have been great at dressing them. For example today Cora had a denim jumper, white shirt and tights and a red sweater, Wyatt had the same color denim jeans and a red, white and blue shirt - both had blue and white shoes. Sad isn't it!

3. I LOVE watersports, pretty much of any kind! I've been waterskiing since I was 10 or 12(?) and in the past few summers I've learned to wakeboard too, and I'm totally hooked! I love being out on the water, it's probably where I feel most relaxed and at peace. Only problem is we don't have a boat yet, thankfully my parents do and they are only 45 minutes away!

4. (Mike told me to put this one on) I've gotten past a lot of my fears, but there is still one thing that completely terrifies me and sends me running out of the room - moths!!! Yes, those unpredictable fast flying, scarely little things freak me out! An example of my over the top fear happenned one day in Mike's old truck (before the kids); we were driving down a road (a narrow 50mph road) and one flew out of the dash and started flying around. I screamed and burried my face in my arms and yelled until he pulled over and killed the thing. So, yeah, they scare me!

5. Most of you who know me know that I am anal, to say the least, about what I eat. I'm really health conscious and pretty picky about what I eat, when I eat it and how it is prepared. I'm getting better, but I still measure a lot of stuff so that I know calories/ fat/ sodium, etc. Anyhow, it would probably suprize you to know that some of my favorite foods are; pizza, ice cream cake, chips and salsa, and margaritas (is that a food?) - all things loaded with the stuff I try to avoid! These are definately my "cheat" foods.

6. It probably isn't good for the environment or my checkbook, but I will likely never drive a car (unless it's a 66' mustang), I really love my gas gussling SUV. I've tried driving cars, and even owned one for a 6 mo, but I have never felt safe driving one. I feel like I can't see very well, I hate being that low to the ground and for some reason I feel like I have to have 4 wheel drive to really be "prepared". Probably comes from learning to drive in a big jeep wagonier and a full size van! At least we recycle! :)

Now I tag Amy!

My Crazy Children

The things they come up with and do never cease to amaze me - I love that! This is how I found Wyatt yesterday afternoon. Everyday after lunch, Cora naps, Mommy has "quiet" time and Wyatt has "room" time. Well about 15 minutes in I realised that it was much, much to quiet, usually I can still hear him playing. I went to peak and did not see him, wasn't on the floor, the bed or in his play tent. Upon further inspection I found him wrapped up in blankies, in a pile of animals at the end of his bed - quite cozy indeed! He napped there for over an hour and was just thrilled about it when he woke up!

Our little mommy got a hold of the baby bjorn the other day and was so happy to pack her "beebee" around in it! She's very maternal with her beebees, always feeds them play food (or her own food), always takes their clothes off before they go to sleep - they are naked every morning!, and squirts water into their mouths regularly - got to stay hydrated!

The First Field Trip

When we arrived the kids had to chase down the resident kitty - poor kitty, it probably looked like a mob of "tail pullers" was after her!
Last Thursday was Wyatt's first field trip, we went to Dusty's Nursery/ Pumpkin Patch. It was a SUPER cold morning, but very fun! We were very fortunate that Mike was home all day so he and sissy were able to go with us. The kids went through the corn stalk maze, chose their pumpkins from the patch and had a class picture take on the hay bales. However, the highlights for Wyatt were chasing down the kitty, pulling the wagon, and the picnic snack! I couldn't believe it, but after we left Mike actually suggested getting them a kitty for Christmas (since he had no idea how much they loved kitties!). I'm sure they'd love it, but I'm not so sure I'm convinced I want a cat. If we do, I told Mike it has to be a big lazy one that lays in the sun, lets the kids play with him and will go outside to potty! I'm guessing I won't find one of those - darn! :)

Roman

This is Roman, the elk that Mike and his dad brought back from their hunt this past week. Mike was more of the "guide" in this hunt and his dad is the one who shot the elk. The reason he got this name is because "he has a big knot on his forehead, a 'roman' nose from pushing over trees" as Mike told me. Just as they were about to call it quits Monday morning, Mike saw this big guy back in the trees, and "Dad hammered him" as Mike said (can you tell he's right next to me, "helping" with this blog entry?). We had planned for them to be gone for most of the week, but just about 3 hours of hunting was all it took, and they were home and Roman was in the cooler by Monday evening! Bummer, Liz and I didn't get to go out bar hopping like we'd planned! (just kidding!) Mike had been praying that all would go well for this hunt since it has been a lifelong dream of his dad's to shoot a big bull. He also prayed that they would have a great time hunting together, in the end it was a complete answer to prayer!

Pumpkins and Leaves

Last Friday we took a "family day" and just spent the whole day together having fun. No chores, commitments or adgenda. It was a gorgeous day and everyone was finally feeling up for getting out of the house. We hung out and played at home for a while and then headed up to the Harvest Festival at Suncadia later in the morning. It was really fun, the kids were terrified of the ponies at first (though their owners were a little overzealous about getting the kids to ride them - they even tried to put me on one!), so we skipped that for a while and started with a photo op. The back ground was all set up:

Next we remembered the covered wagon ride from last year and went to go see our Clydesdale friends Lucky and Tipp. It was fun and very bumpy, can't imagine what it would have been like with wooden wagon wheels! This is Cora and I on the wagon ride, she thought it was great, Wyatt was a little unsure this year.

Next we went to the little pumpkin patch. Each of the kids picked out a pumpkin, but the people tending to the pay station never came back so we decided to leave those ones and try the real pumpkin patch on the way home.

After that we went through the hay bale maze (no pigs!!!!) which was pretty long and a little tricky with Cora. We lost her a couple times because she took off ahead of us and then we weren't sure which way she had gone. I think this was Wyatt's favorite part because he was leading the way and deciding where to turn and which way to go! As soon as we came out Cora saw the ponies again and started saying "I see horseys, I see horseys!" Then "pet the horsey, pet the horsey," and finally as we got closer "I ride the baby horsey!" We were so excited, sure we were going to have a picture of our baby girl on a pony! Once we got there however she wouldn't sit on one, but she did ask to pet each and every horesy! Wyatt on the other had got maybe 3 feet from one of them and decided that was it.

From Suncadia we drove the the real good old fashioned cut it off the vine yourself pumpkin patch. Very cute and has great pumpkins! Cora couldn't decide which one to get, but finally ran up to a big pile of gnarly vines with this totally misshapen pumpkin sitting in the middle and said "disa one, disa one right here!" First Mike told her it was rotten, however upon Mommy's inspection it was indeed fine, just a bit of a misfit pumpkin. So we cut it off and brought it home, she was so proud! She also found a tree with rotting "apoos" and was pretty thrilled too!
Wyatt decided on the biggest pumpkin he could find and then made a bee line for this VERY old car that was sitting in the middle of the field. Obviously his favorite part!

We ended our outing with a walk by the river to see all of the fall color. I got lucky and the sun came through the trees for a few minutes and just lit it all up!

We took a few family pics, ran a couple errands, grabbed some dinner (which the kids were to tired to eat by then) and didn't get back home until bed time. It was a long day, but it was so nice spend it together and be outside in all of the fall beauty that God gives us!
