New room and new beds

Right before Christmas Wyatt was having a lot of sleeping troubles, a cycle that just seemed to keep repeating itself for him every couple months. He'd do fine sleeping in his room for about a month or so, go to sleep easily and sleep until 7ish, but we never could keep that up for very long. Then he'd start waking up crying in the night, he'd come and want to sleep with us (which isn't that bad, but we get up earlier than him) or need us to sleep on his floor next to him and he was scared to go to sleep at night. Finally one bleary eyed morning he told Mike, "I just need someone in my room with me," and a light went off in my husband's head. He has always been against room sharing, so I was shocked when he said "Wyatt, do you want to sleep with Cora?" Grins and cheers followed! It took a few nights of Cora acting like a wild woman before they got used to going to bed together, but now they've totally figured it out and sleep GREAT!!! They both sleep more soundly and longer than ever before! Wyatt even woke up the other day and stayed in his bed until we got up, he told me "I didn't want to wake you up!" Ahhh....

So, New Year's night we tried to take it a step further. Wyatt was thrilled to move into a twin bed and Cora thought she wanted to sleep in the toddler bed. They were laying down peacefully, all tucked in, had agreed to stay in bed, etc. As soon as the lights went off, chaos abounded! Cora turned on the lights repeatedly, jumped on her bed, climbed Wyatt's and jumped on his bed, ran around, yelled, etc. We tried EVERYTHING we could think of that night to make it work, but nothing was doing it and after an hour Mike brought her to me and said "here, hold her!" and drug the crib back in. After it was set back up you could just see how relieved she was to go back to her "cage". I guess we figured out the hard way that she wasn't quite ready yet, she is still very happy in her crib!

So cute, but it didn't last!
