A couple days after the garden was planted the kids were out in the garage "helping" Mike with something. I wasn't sure what until Mike came in and asked me for an old pair of clothes for each kid that I didn't plan for them ever to wear again???? Scarecrows were the only thing I could think of, but I could tell it was a big suprise so I didn't say anything. Sure enough he had built (to scale) a Wyatt and Cora scarecrow for the garden. They helped and were certainly proud of themselves!
I should also take this opportunity to introduce you to Brussel Sprout. Yes, this is capitalised because it is a name, the name of Wyatt's tomatoe plant this year. I believe last year's was Bert or something, but this year he was adament that Brussel Sprout was it's name - thought that one up all on his own. He's very fond of his plant, feeds it, waters it, etc. He's told me he wants to keep Brussel Sprout forever - at least it's only July don't have to cross taht bridge for another month or 2!
Cora also planted 2 big pot of flower seeds. A few days after doing this she ran down to see them, saw that she had sprouts and said, "oh, they're babies, they're precious!" She also feeds, waters and brings rocks to her baby flowers.
