4th of July
4th of July was great this year! It was really low key, which made it really relaxing and we were able to enjoy our time together as a family and with our extended family! I hadn't felt good the couple days before so the kids missed out on a shirt making party with friends but were able to create their own right after breakfast on the 4th and they were dry in a couple hours. I did the backs in "sports jersey" style (we had planned to do the family fun run but Miss Cora slept in and we didn't make it) and they took brushes and painted the fronts. I loved that they each used their own way of painting - they turned out so neat!

We played games in the morning, Wyatt is really intersted in dominoes, so we tried to teach him that. We listened to some fun mommy and daddy music (in other words not Little People or Veggies Tales) and they both danced up a STORM! Around 2 that day my whole family came up for a BBQ, which was really fun. Afterwards the kids did those little snap fireworks and played in the pool with Uncle Joe.
We got them in out of the sun with desert. They each got to decorate a big star cookie in red, white and blue. Check out Wyatt, so tired even the sugar buzz wasn't helping. We had planned to hit the park for the town festivities and fireworks but the kids were worn out. We opted to stay home and put them to bed before the fireworks ever went off!
