4th of July

Though it's almost a week later, here is how our 4th of July weekend went! On Thursday we went to a friend's house to tye-dye (spelling???) t-shirts in red white and blue, as you can see in the picture. It was a really fun morning and the shirts are so cute, though much more purple than blue and red - mommy's a tye-dye newbie.

The 4th started off with quite the "fireworks show" when we had a crazy thunder and lightening storm come through really early Friday morning. This storm totally took the cake, I've never heard thunder like that and the lightening was SO close. I know it sounds like I'm being WAY overly dramatic, but really it did hit a house not even a 2 minute drive from us! Poor little Wyatt, it was his 1st big storm and he was litterally shaking with fear huddled between Mike and I - even Boggsy started wimpering in his kennel and of course Mike braved the storm to go and bring him in. Cora however slept right through the whole thing. :) I figured it was God giving us a big 4th of July show!
Mike had to work all weekend so we just did a simple little BBQ here at our house with some friends on Friday. Saturday and Sunday didn't have too much more action since Mike was working, but I did dress Wyatt and Cora up in their patriotic church outfits.
Monday was our big day though! We went to the Chelan water slide park and it was the BEST time! We went with 3 other families that we are friends with so all of the kids and adults had a great time. There were areas for the tiny ones like Cora, a bit bigger for the smaller kids like Wyatt and then there were the BIG ones for the big kids (us). I would have loved to get some pictures of the kids going down the slides with us, but the fear of irrepairable water damage to my camera kept it safely tucked in my bag. Wyatt did all of the adult slides that they'd let him on, sitting on our laps and thought it was the greatest thing ever. Needless to say they were both exhausted at the end and after some really really tired silliness in the backseat, both crashed hard! We were so lucky to get such an incredible day at such a fun place!

I know what you mean about not taking pictures at the water slides! I really wanted to also but couldn't risk it! The shirts look cute and so do the kids!
