911

Just had to get this posted before I forget about it! A couple weeks ago I was on the computer and Wyatt came in and asked if he could use the phone for a minute. Our land line is disconnected but is still plugged into the jack and the wall because we can still use it to call 911. Anyhow I'm thinking, sure play with it, you can't call anyone and I don't think you know a thing about 911! So he took it, dialed some numbers and a recording came on that said the line wasn't in use, etc, etc, and if it was an emergency (a word yet to be defined to Wyatt at that point) to hang up and call 911. Well, Wyatt being the good boy and rule follower that he is, did just that! He dialed 911 and apparently they said something to him because he came running in here and told me he'd pushed 9 and 1 two times. I quickly grabbed the phone and pushed "off" as hard as I could about 50 times and then prayed there weren't any officers on the way to the house! Next step was to call Mike and see how much trouble one gets in for prank calling 911. Thankfully he said not to worry about it, but that an officer might show up at the house. After that Wy and I had a little talk about 911, what an emergency is and when it would be a good time to call that #. It was a good talk, he wasn't in trouble and I wasn't mad - trying to keep from laughing really. Just at the end an officer on a motorcycle showed up, just to check on us. We explained it all, he wans't upset, but his motorcycle made Wyatt's day! That was the 1st thing he told Mike, "hey daddy, a police officer on a motorcycle came to the house today!!!!"
