CMA Women's retreat

A few weeks back I was blessed with the opportunity to go on a Women's retreat, with 4 of my close friends! It was a district retreat where many Alliance Church women got together in Canby OR. The 5 of us that traveled and lodged together had been in Bible Study together for the better part of a year, so we knew each other pretty well. We had such a great time! I did have to take pictures of our "accomodations" though, because seriously all we could do was laugh when we pulled up outside of our "deluxe cabin". We had booked a "delux cabin" and our expectations were backed up by the conference center's website. However upon arrival we realised we'd been had just a little bit! We all got out laughing at our little "box" and promptly returned to the registration area to ask for rooms in the lodge. Apparently lots of those women had been there before and knew which rooms to stay in - cabins were all that was left. So, we went back and made the best of it all (honestly we had a really great time) in our little box. We also hadn't expected that much mud right outside our cabin, so we created a fabulous new trend in wearing pants - we called it "the flip" and we rocked it all weekend. The bathrooms were down the road but had flushing toilets and showers so we really couldn't complain to much. We got to visit a great outlet mall, stay up late talking and laughing, eat great meals that we didn't prepare or clean up, listen to the Galloping Gourmet, Grahm Kerr, and of course more than anything grow our relationships with God!
