Mt Rainier
A couple weekends ago Mike and the kids and I took a "family day" since Mike had been gone all week, and drove up to Mt Rainier. I have always loved it up there, just amazingly beautiful and I'm always in awe of what God has created. Usually we go up to Paradise, but this year that road was closed so we drove Chinook Pass (which is also gorgeous) to Sunrise. Sunrise isn't as touristy and it is the highest point on the mountain that you can drive to. We walked around a little, but since we took Boggs with us we couldn't walk on the trails (no pets allowed - just a heads up). The kids ran around and we tried to keep them out of the meadows (another heads up - can't walk in those delicate meadows). Cora was enamoured by the wildflowers and insisted on picking or smelling everyone she came to. She was out little dawdler, taking her time to smell the flowers and stop to point out each one. Our brief little walk led to me filling (stashing) the entire camera case with flowers the kids had picked. Wyatt's favorite part was probably the mountain goat in the visitors center. He has always had a thing for mountain goats and has a big stuffed one named Lincoln. So, he was excited to see "Lincoln" and have his picture taken with him. Then while I was waiting outside with Boggs, they both talked Daddy into their own little stuffed Lincolns. The clouds and sun weren't cooperating much with me trying to take pictures of the mountain itself, so these pics don't really do it justice, but you get the idea - absolutely amazing!
